What is the best engine you can get for a nissan 350z?

i need a good engine so the can beat a nissan skyline in a race. and any other tips to improve my 350z you can tell me.|||A small block Chevy.|||The best engine available for the 350 is the engine that came in it. It is quite responsive to mods, too.

Contrary to popular opinion, the R34 GT-R was not 280ps, as people like to say. Most of them are uninformed. The final producton model of the GT-R was RATED at 280ps due to a "Gentlemans Agreement" between all the Japanese auto companies. The GT-R, in it's final stages, was actually closer to 330ps.

It is correct that the RB26 responds quite well to aftermarket modifications. Just simply removing the stock catalytic converter and replacing it with a high flow cat, an aftermarket cat-back exhaust, and a boost controller will net you close to 50 horsepower. Plus with it's computer controlled AWD system, it's hard to beat from a launch.

Options for your 350 are supercharger kits from HKS, twin turbo kits from Greddy, and many other bolt-ons from many other companies.

One thing though, please keep the racing on the track and off the street.|||why dont you use a nissan skyline engine then and modify it? RB26DETT is the engine code for the engine you will need.|||They Make Bolt on Turbo and Supercharger Kits For Q Motor. Easier and cheaper.|||The 350z has more factory horsepower than a Skyline GT-R. The 350z came with as little as 286 ranging up to 303. The GT-R came with 280.

BUT! GT-R's are much more responsive to upgrades.

Try a LS7 crate motor 505 horsepower out of the box, small upgrades will add a good amount. It will cast a whole lot, but it is possible.

If you were to swap a RB26DETT it would not be street legal and you would need the swap and more mods than your rival.

350z weight - 3339

R34 skyline weight- 3388

R33 skyline weight- 3373

motor weights will not vary much either.
