How much to replace a Nissan 300z engine?

I'm in the market for a car purchase and I've got my sights set on the Nissan 300z. Unfortunately, most of the cars I'm looking at have 150,000 miles or more and, in the case of the one I'd probably buy, over 200,000. I figure that the car won't last too much longer on an engine with that many miles, so how much would it cost to replace the engine? Does it have to be a 300 engine or can some other make and/or model engine be substituted? It's a 1994, if that matters. Thanks.|||i own a repair shop and it does need to be a 300 z engine to go back in it,and your probably not going to find one that hasn't got less than 150 thousand on it,if you like the car good enough though and you think its worth keeping you can go to jasper engines web site and price out one of there engines, they come with a 3 year 75 thousand mile warranty on them, and that's a pretty good warranty, but when they rebuild an engine they put everything new in it ,the site is japerenginesandtransmissions.com,,, you,ll have to type it in i cant post it to go strait to it,but they have everything ,good luck hope this helps.|||thank you.

also i just wanted to add, as a former z owner, i thought i should share w/ u, that there are a lot of car shops that strickly work on z's. you may want to c if therz a place that specializes in Z's near ur house. or look for a nearby z club. they'll help u|||It can be replaced with another model however, it's not worth the effort...get a diffrent car
